Google Alerts is a free tool that allows you to monitor the web for specific keywords or phrases. When new content matching your criteria is published, you’ll receive an email notification.
1. Go to the Google Alerts website.
2. Sign in with Your Google Account
- If you’re not already signed in, click the “Sign in” button in the top-right corner and log in with your Google account credentials.
3. Create a New Alert for “Email Marketing”
- In the text box at the top of the page labeled “Create an alert about…” type “email marketing.”
- To focus on specific aspects, you can use different keywords like “email marketing trends” or “email marketing best practices.”
4. Set the Alert Preferences
Once you type in your query, you’ll see a preview of the results. Below the search box, click on “Show options” to customize your alert preferences:
- How often: Choose the frequency for receiving alerts (e.g., once a day, once a week, or as it happens).
- Sources: Choose the type of sources you want the alerts from (e.g., blogs, news, web, video, books, etc.).
- Language: Select the language of the content you want to track.
- Region: Choose a specific region or keep it global.
- How many: Select whether you want “Only the best results” or “All results.”
- Deliver to: Enter the email address you want to receive these alerts. By default, this will be your Google account email.
5. Create the Alert
- After setting your preferences, click the “Create Alert” button.
6. Manage or Edit Your Alerts
- You can always go back to Google Alerts to manage your existing alerts. You can edit, delete, or adjust your preferences anytime.
